Austin Builders and Developers Mix it up at HomeBrew

Austin-area builder and developer members mixed and mingled at the inaugural HomeBrew event, held March 2 on the upstairs patio of The Dogwood at Rock Rose in The Domain.  Though there was no formal program, attendees participated in a game in which they anonymously shared history and predictions about lot pricing in key submarkets.

According to Regional Director Vaike O’Grady, “This was  a fun way to share insights about where single-family new home lot pricing is headed.  There was a lot of good-natured ribbing between those on the ‘sell’ and those on the ‘buy’ side.”

Attendees enjoyed an open bar courtesy of sponsor Severn Trent, and Metrostudy provided platters of hors d’oeuvres.  The randomly-selected winner of the lot pricing game walked away with an Amazon Echo Dot to enjoy at home.  Even better, several new developer clients were able to take advantage of the event to meet builders in the area.  Likewise, builders learned of new opportunities.  “With such great response, we’re looking forward to holding another HomeBrew event later in the spring,” said O’Grady.
