With an educational background in real estate research, Phillip started his career underwriting the real estate asset component of private placement syndications for MGIC Investment Corporation. While at MGIC, Rassel helped set up the first risk management reporting system for the largest private mortgage insurer in the United States. Rassel then went on to become a project analyst for Wilma Southeast, the US division of the Dutch developer Wilma International. He was also Risk Manager for GE Capital Mortgage Insurance, responsible for monitoring economic factors effecting housing markets in the Mid-Atlantic, Southwest and Southeastern regions of the US. In addition, Mr. Rassel served as a Senior Consultant in the Real Estate Consulting practice at KPMG Peat Marwick in Atlanta. He also negotiated MBS contracts for Fannie Mae before joining American METRO/STUDY Corporation, now Metrostudy, as Director of the Atlanta office in 1996. Phillip has extensive experience in preparing market and financial due diligence on many types of real estate including single family residential, multi-family rental, retail, and commercial office. Mr. Rassel is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He also earned a Master of Science degree in Real Estate and Urban Affairs from Georgia State University in Atlanta.
