Ed Dunnavant, MIRM, a veteran of the homebuilding industry, joined Metrostudy in 1998 and launched the firm's North Carolina operations in Raleigh/Durham and Charlotte. He is responsible for all operations in the North Carolina Region, including surveying, consulting and managing local client relationships.

Prior to joining Metrostudy, he was the Raleigh/Durham division sales manager of Centex Homes, ranked consistently as one of the nation's top homebuilders and a leader in Raleigh Durham. As Division Sales Manager he was involved in all aspects of the Division's planning and execution of its new home product development, positioning, marketing, and sales operations for eight years. Before his association with Centex in Raleigh Durham, he was a national sales and marketing consultant with the Greenman Group in Florida, providing product positioning analyses, location feasibility and sales and market strategies for builders, developers, and lenders in over 46 states and Canada. During his tenure as a national sales and marketing consultant he also participated in marketing seminars on land development and new home sales. As president of a Richmond, Virginia home building company, he developed land and built, sold and marketed new homes for over 20 years. He began his career in the home-building industry as a new home salesperson after graduation from Virginia Tech.

Mr. Dunnavant has long been involved with the National Association of Home Builders and the National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC). In 1991, he received the Excellence in Education award from NAHB's Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM) for outstanding lifetime achievement in educating new home sales and marketing professionals and for helping to achieve the goals of the Institute. One of those achievements was the development and implementation of NAHB's Certified Sales Professional (CSP) program for new-home sales professionals, which provides training as well as nationally recognized credentials. He has served as the President the Institute of Residential Marketing and was appointed by the president of NAHB as a trustee of the NSMC. In addition, he was elected by IRM's national membership to serve as a trustee of the Institute and has served as Chairperson of IRM's education committee. Mr. Dunnavant is a frequently requested presenter at the NAHB Builder's Show, state and local homebuilder associations, and Sales and Marketing Councils across the nation.
