He began his career with Ryan Homes, one of the nations largest homebuilders, as a Sales Representative and was a Ryan Homes” national sales leader before moving to the position of Ryan Homes’ Atlanta Regional Sales and Marketing Services Manager where his responsibilities included sales training, merchandising, advertising, budgets, operational planning, and market competition analysis. Mr. Miley then became the Director of Sales and Marketing for The Housing Group, a prominent Atlanta builder and residential developer. He played a key role in the company’s planning, marketing, new home product development and positioning, as well as land analysis for subdivision development. He later created and was the broker for Residential Marketing Concepts, a Georgia real estate company devoted totally to the sales and marketing of new homes for builders and developers.
In 1992, he joined Colony Homes as Sales Manager in Atlanta and was asked to open their Charlotte Division in 1998. As Division President he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s land acquisitions, trade partner relationships, construction, sales, operational planning, pricing and positioning of the company in the highly competitive Charlotte Market. Mr. Miley graduated from Emory University in 1970 and continued his post-graduate education at Georgia State University. He was a high school science teacher and coach prior to beginning his career in real estate. Always active in the National Association of Home Builders and their Sales and Marketing Council, Bill received his MIRM designation in 1987.
